We Don't Exist

A poem to expose the enemy

We’re not only here on Halloween
This world is our domain
We roam about the earth unseen
By unexpected prey

We creep inside, slither, hiss
And seep into the mind
We whisper that "They don’t exist"
This is our greatest lie

We find an empty soul
And make our way inside
The flesh a breeding ground
And so we multiply

Man’s weakness helps us slither in
We crave the depraved mind
The lustful thoughts of secret sin
We say, “don’t leave behind…”

The angry mind is simpler still
We push him to the edge
Filling him with thoughts to kill
We play scenes in his head

Pride and self sufficiency
Is where we really thrive
We linger, planting seeds
'Til man is eaten up inside

We feed on flesh that's lazy
Barely moving about
The man full of complacency
His dreams lay on the couch

There are some whom we can never enter
And so we’ve been pushed out
The Holy One inside forever
We take a different route

If man's heart is full of Love
We use others from outside
The lies regurgitate like cud
Until he's stone cold, dry

We only fear the man
Who decides to bend his knee
The shield of faith in his hand
He takes authority

We keep our distance from the souls
Who dare to speak His Name
To all others we set our goal
Throwing arrows of hot flame

Man believes we don’t exist
Our stories they retell
In doing so they run the risk
Of meeting us in hell
