Let me start this post by saying I appreciate the music of many different genres. I appreciate the work of artists who bring their perspective to the world through melodies and lyrics. It is an admirable act of love that should not only be celebrated but compensated. I attend concerts and encourage you to do the same because it is the only real way that artists can get paid for what they do.

With that being said, if you have been a subscriber to my blog for a while, you know that I have previously written about idolatry in relation to music. I’m sitting here trying to determine what I want to say in this blog post because I don’t want to come across as “holier than thou” as if I have arrived. (Friends, God is still working on me.) But while I am typing, backspacing, and retyping, I’m praying in my heart that the Lord would give me just the right words because what is on my heart is relevant to the body of Christ for wisdom and edification. So here we are again.
